The Western Ohio Educational Foundation is a 501c3 organization that supports higher education in the Lake Campus region through financial and philanthropical means. The foundation started in 1962 and has since grown to a thirty member organization that spans over four surrounding counties. One of the missions of the WOEF Board is to support students of the Lake Campus with over $200,000 in scholarships yearly. The WOEF Board also owns the three housing units at the Lake Campus that Wright State University manages. Faculty and staff grants are also donated on a yearly basis to help offset special project costs. The foundation is funded through local individual and company donations. All donor funds are used to increase the role of higher education in rural areas. The board meets the fourth Monday of every month to discuss new agenda items and financials. Terms by county trustees are for three years and members must be voted on. All trustees coordinate on a volunteer basis. There are four officers that are appointed to terms every four years. The WOEF Board is a non-political organization.
